First seep of coffee

Today I want to talk about a small big thing. Why small? Because it is easily attainable. Why big? Because it makes a difference. And what makes a difference every day, makes it every week, every month and so forth. After all, we are what we do repeatedly. So this thing is little moments of joy that we can create to our selves every day. It all starts with knowing what makes you feel this special way. For me this thing starts in the morning. I am a coffee person, and there is nothing I like more than a fresh coffee in the morning. I am not cool enough to have my coffee black, I add milk and sugar to it. But what makes me happy in the morning is that very first seep I get. I also go out on the balcony with my cup and have a breathe of fresh air. My son wakes up early, so I enjoy this moment while he is playing and I can witness how the city wakes up. See how simple it is, a seep of coffee a breathe of fresh air. Tasting and smelling senses recharged. There you go, the morning starts right.

In the afternoon we usually go for a walk. There is a park near our home, and there are also little cafés, boutiques and really tiny galleries. The park itself is not that big, but it is such a joy for your eyes. Everything seems so chic, so peaceful, that you feel like you belong to this world where everything is beautiful. It is not about buying something, it is about seeing this place and walk around these places. This is how I get visionary sense satisfied, just 5 minutes walking distance from home.

I can go on with my personal examples, but I want to say here is make a list of simple things that make your day better and that you can easily do. You don't have to do them all every day, but you will need this on that day when you feel out of your league.

In order to find these things, think about your senses: vision, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling. And think of what is readily available to you to satisfy your senses. Food-wise, maybe you have your favorite tea, or your favorite chocolate as a mid-day treat. For hearing, make yourself a playlist with a couple of songs to get your back on track. I know that "Midnight train to Georgia" always does the trick to me. If you're crafty, maybe you like to draw or knit (plus it can be a form of meditation). If you need to see something beautiful and can't get to a museum, get a pinterest feed with your favorite artwork, or just aesthetics that are a kind of elixir to your eyes.

You got the idea, get creative and make sure you have a "first seep of coffee" in your every day.

Be Xen!
